ARCTURIUS' MOST PLAYED GAMES

These are listed in no real order but they are the games I play the most that doesn't by any means mean they are the best the system has to offer just that these games are the ones I keep returning to time and time again.

Bust-A-Move 4
I've always been a fan of the bubble dragon's Bublun & Boblun ever since Bubble Bobble was released in 1986 so likewise I got hooked on this puzzle game when it followed in later years. It's a fun addictive yet simple concept firing coloured bubbles up a screen to take out other bubble placed there, good simple fun and one I'll never tire of playing.

Chu Chu Rocket
Again a nice simple puzzle game this one however has more charm in the multi-player mode and always gets an airing when friends are visiting though creating puzzles for other to solve can also be amusing.

Crazy Taxi
A game I can never tire of playing this is one I constantly return too time and time again, even though I own the sequel as well it's the original Arcade map that keeps calling me back, it's just so much fun.

Daytona USA 2001
Another I keep coming back too but this one is mostly because of the fat I used to play it in the arcades originally when it first came out, The Sega Saturn version is also well loved in my collection, but the DC's is the one I play more now.

F1 World Grand Prix For Dreamcast
This might not be the newest version of this series availble on the DC again I have the follow up as well but the Australian Grand Prix on this one is a firm favorite with me having been able to go and see the real thing in 2002 I'm still in love with this paticular track and race.

Giga Wing
One of the better vertical shooter games, just beating Gunbird 2 in here, unfairly treated in reviews it seems as it's not a bad game just hard and ruined by the infinate continues problem. Though I'm sure once DC version's of Ikaruga & Border Down find their way into my collection this one will slip out into the fond memories section.

The House of the Dead 2
Two players, two light guns, lots of blasting fun. I'll still rather spend 2 hours playing this than having to watch the dreadful mess of a film they made of it. The game has good bad acting it's so terrible that you enjoy it.

MOST PLAYED GAMES

Jet Set Radio
In Jet Set Radio, you play the role of a whacked out kid who is completely torqued off about the system. It seems that the city of Tokyo to is not terribly "kid friendly" and they want to keep things neat and pretty. You, the skater punk, figure the only way to rebel is with your inline skates and a couple of cans of Krylon. That kind of attitude can lead to trouble when you are in the real world, but in the world of Jet Set Radio there are no paint fumes and its all done in the name of fun and scoring points. Jet Set's gameplay has some of the feel of Crazy Taxi. As you skate you see little floating arrows that indicate where you should go and where you should be tagging. Underscoring all of this action is a deejay at the local hip-hop station, who spins cool tunes while you tear up Little Tokyoto. The game starts out with a training course designed to bring you up to speed. Pay good attention to this section; it teaches you the basics and you are tested on one of the lessons right away. Once your skating skills are set, you will learn the spray can side of things, and manoeuvre around the city spraying to your hearts content. Much about Jet Set Radio has "classic" stamped on it. With its fresh characters, cool design, great music and audio, and high replayability.

LeMans 24 Hours
Fun, fast, and furious. The 3 F's. Every good racer has to have them, and Le Mans has all of them! In expert mode, other cars try and ram you off the road, there are tons of twist and turns in each track to make each a challenge, you have to time your pit stops, so you can fill up on gas and get some new tires before your tires blow out, you run out of gas, or lose your top spot! The AI is smart, and well, the game can be fast. Come on, how could racing a fake car on a fake track not be fun? Ok, so some of you aint into games, but if you are, this is the sweet part. The AI is very intelligent, and can be a big challenge. The courses are very hard, and can be very long, and there are 7 to unlock (bringing the total number of courses to ten). There are 11 championships to unlock, each harder than the last. There are a total of 40 cars to unlock, each with its unique handling and look.

Phantasy Star Online
Phantasy Star Online, developed by the legendary Sonic Team, is a fantastic experience that every gamer should taste at least once in his or her life. A basic RPG at heart, you're first required to create a character and then unleash it upon the online world. Gameplay is centred around exploring the alien planet of Ragol, solving puzzles and defeating enemies, all the while learning new skills, acquiring new items and weaponry, and developing your character's abilities. Online, you're able to meet up with other players from around the world, chat with them through a built-in language translator, and go adventuring with them. This is a superb premise for a game and it works incredibly well.

Samba De Amigo
A recipe for success: Take 1 monkey (with Sombrero) Add some damn catchy songs (including Reel Big Fish's Version of the A-Ha Classic Take On Me) Thrown in a liberal sprinkling of psychedelic graphics And two maraca controllers What have you got? Only the finest game this side of Mexico. With more laughs than a Funhouse full of feathers, this game will make you cry tears of complete delight and frustration, in hysterics saying "What did Sega do to deserve the negative press..? Damn those journalists". Sonic Team have pulled it one of the bag again.

Sonic Adventure
Once again we have Sonic back on our consoles, With a new lease of life, new friends and new baddies, Sonic has certainly got his work cut out for him in a breezy, buzzing world that shows the transfer of an old game to a new console needn't be limp. Now we are granted shots of Sonic running at high speed, the calming ocean in the background and other graphical niceties. There are times when you have to be precise with the position of Sonic, and after bouncing your way through numerous trampolines this it can be annoying. Still, every time our little friend turns and waves everything just seems all right. This game ranks with other titles in the genre. If you're a Sonic fan, but never got around to getting this title for your collection then it certainly is a must.
